First-Time Auto Buyer Program
From time to time, an auto loan request may be made by a member with little to no credit history. In an attempt to meet the needs of our younger members just beginning to establish themselves, OTIS has structured and made available an auto loan program that introduces and educates first-time auto borrowers on the nuances and responsibilities of financing a first vehicle.
How it Works:
The Credit Union will consult with each first-time auto borrower by using the “Responsible Borrower Agreement” to outline the responsibilities and demands of vehicle ownership. The consultation will also address the ins-and-outs of establishing positive credit.
First-Time Auto Buyers Can …
- Borrow up to $7,500 (loan amounts above $7,500 require a co-signer, who may be removed after twelve months of consecutive payments on the loan)
- Borrow for up to a term of up to 48 months
- Borrow up to 100% retail value (including tax, title, and doc fees)
