Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for OTIS ON-LINE Users.
We are increasing the security to our Home Banking. Our staff has implemented
a more secure procedure to verify and authenticate all users who are logging
into Home Banking.
What is it?
As technology continues to be enhanced, OTIS will continue to provide the next generation of security to protect your account information. True Factor provides this next generation of protection with its layered security system – added to the member login for our Home Banking solution. This added layer enhances the login process by two steps:
- Adds picture and phrase mutual authentication
- Adds challenge/response questions
If you forget your Access Code or challenge answer(s), a secure email is sent to you with a secret code that you can use to login.
How do I set it up?
To add this additional layer of security to Home Banking, Click the “Multi-Factor Authentication” link from the Other Options drop down menu in Home Banking to register.
To begin the registration, choose from a list of images. Choose something that you will easily remember, or that means something to you personally.
Next, enter a secure phrase. This secure phrase can be something personal and known to only you, or can describe the chosen image, or anything that is easily remembered and meaningful to you. The secure phrase and image are shown together when logging in. If they are not shown correctly – do not log in! Your connection is not secure.
Then, choose three security questions from a list of several. These security questions are randomly displayed each time you log in to Home Banking. Please note that your answers are case sensitive. There are no requirements for upper or lower case, but if you set your answer to “Dog above the roofline”, then “dog above the roofline” will not be accepted, because “Dog” was originally set to be uppercase.
Why Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA is a convenient, highly effective method for members to be
sure that they are logging into the real OTIS ON-LINE login, page
and not a spoofed page designed to steal their account information.
